Eased and Polished
Also known as Flat Edge, this edge treatment is very common and offers a clean and simple look for your granite countertops. This edge is used on most granite backsplashes.
On granite countertops flat, or eased edges offer a square flat face with the sharp edge on top rounded slightly. Sometimes the edge is rounded enough to be called a quarter round granite edge.
Beveled Edge
Bevels are 45 degree angle cuts into the edge of the stone. The deeper the cut, the wider the bevel face is. If the stone has a tendency to chip, a bevel edge may chip more than a rounded edge.
Half Round Edge
Also known as half bullnose edge. The Half Round Edge adds curves and highlights the thickness of the granite. It is one of the more subtle edges available.
Ogee Edge
An ogee edge is a contoured edging that departs from the traditional 90-degree edge found on many laminate countertops. The ogee edge consists of a tiered and curved effect that in profile resembles the letter S. The ogee edge may have an underwrap front, which means that the inside corners will be seamless and the outside corners will bend around a radius. Ogee edges are also available without this underwrap.
Chiseled Edge
Perhaps the most natural or rustic edge is the chiseled.
The chiseled edge is rough and looks like a naturally broken piece of granite. It is lightly smoothed and sprayed with a clear finish to make it shine.
